It is school policy to employ teachers with outstanding professional credentials from the UK with relevant experience delivering the English National Curriculum. On occasion, the school will also employ outstanding teachers with other internationally recognised qualifications and British curriculum experience.
In order to be qualified, teachers must possess a degree, usually from a UK University, coupled with a specialised and relevant education or teaching diploma issued by a recongnized institution. Alternatively, teachers take a specialised 4-year teaching degree, leading to Bachelor of Education qualification.
Teachers of our Early Years section must hold a diploma of Early Childhood studies.
Teachers are also required to have relevant experience in other reputable British Schools. Our academic staff has an average teaching experience of 8 years.
Each teacher in primary also has the support of a full-time Teacher Assistant who is typically a native English speaker with a deep knowledge of the UK National Curriculum. This approach helps ensure that the highest quality of teaching and learning takes place in our classrooms, particularly in the areas of literacy and numeracy. All teachers are supported by library, administration and science staff and are given professional development by UK based experts throughout the year.
