An Active Sports Programme BSKL Kuala Lumpur 01-03-2010

The Physical Education Programme has gone from strength to strength. Recently students have been keeping busy with general skills, swimming, golf and other sports and activities.

Foundation finished off the term learning a new tag game called "Fire and Ice". One child holds a RED ball (Fire) and another holds a BLUE ball (Ice) while the rest dodge and weave.

Years 1,2 & 3 have been working hard on their general skills. Lots of jogging, running, sprinting, jumping, skipping, throwing and catching.

Years 4 & 5 are focusing on building cardiovascular endurance through running drills and games.

Students have been assessed and reports sent out for swimming. Assessments were based on basic water skills (blowing bubbles, holding ones breath underwater, starfish float & retrieval of objects below water). Swimming technique was assessed based on kicking, breathing and body position.

We have seen huge improvements with students especially the beginners group. Our intermediate and advanced swimmers are working on refining their strokes.

After School Activites is doing great with 14 clubs currently being offered. Golf was introduced late in the term and was well received. Next April will see the Badminton Club being introduced.
